Each year, the Foundation awards a study grant to support an original project related to classical homeopathy, whether it involves research, clinical experimentation, dissemination, training, or bibliographic work.
The Fondation Pierre Schmidt maintains a unique documentary heritage, established by Dr. Pierre Schmidt (1894–1987). Its core activity is a specialized library of approximately 3,000 books and journals dedicated to homeopathy (homeopathic medicine, conferences, Materia Medica). The collection reflects an international history, with works originating notably from the United States, England, India, Argentina, France, Austria, Germany, and Switzerland.
To ensure its preservation and access, the collection is now located in St. Gallen, being progressively integrated into the Kantonsbibliothek Vadiana catalog. Beyond its resources, the Foundation supports concrete projects related to training and research (dissemination, medical and scientific research, bibliographic work, etc.) by awarding grants to selected projects. It also contributes to the publication of useful references for students and practitioners — for example, Dr. René Casez’s “Cours d’homœopathie” (Fondation Pierre Schmidt edition, 2018), based on teaching provided for years at the request of Dr. Pierre Schmidt, notably in Geneva.
